Question I5 9400f good enough for RX 6000?

My friend wants an rx 6800xt and has an i5 9400f.... surely this won't go well with tons of bottleneck and if this is the case what about a rx 6800?

If it had been a higher resolution then it would have probably been fine. However at 1080p high Hz I would expect that cpu to be limiting. The higher the target FPS the more more the cpu has to do. There would be no harm trying this setup but there is a reasonable chance that your friend may decide a cpu upgrade is needed.
