[SOLVED] i5 9400f or i3 9100f

I don't know which cpu I should get for gaming, i5 9400f or i3 9100f. I won't be doing any rendering streaming etc, but just gaming. Is the extra $50 worth the performance gains?

Typically, yes the i5 is worth it. But what about the rest of the system?

You need a really beefy GPU before seeing any difference,if you intend to keep the system for some time GPUs might get cheap enough that an upgrade in the future might make the investment worth it.

Yeah, there's a threshold for GPUs where if you are below that threshold you might not see much difference at all. I wouldn't consider it a "really beefy" threshold. Also, it largely depends on the game.
