I've ordered an i5-9500 and an ASUS PRIME Z390-P, the BIOS version needed for this processor is marked revision '805'.
Seen here: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/All-series/PRIME-Z390-P/HelpDesk_CPU/
I'm wondering what BIOS revision this motherboard ships with and is it compatible? Is the Z390-P compatible with all 9th Generation Intel Processors straight out of the box?

Ultimately,
will this work straight out-of-the-box or will it need a BIOS update?

I recently purchased a Z390 series motherboard. While shopping for boards I noticed that message on all of them. They all say the board might not post with 9th generation CPU without a bios update.

My ASRock Pro4 paired with Core i5-9600k booted right up no problems. I checked the Bios and it was 6 versions out of date. I still updated the bios, but the system booted up out of the box.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.
