I5 9600k from 3570k

I was wondering whether the following upgrades to my pc would be worthwhile

I game (1080p 144hz hoping to go 1440p @ 144hz in the future)
And use vis studio + oracle

Old:
I5 3570k
8gb Ddr3 1333mhz
Gtx 970
650w gold plus
Gigabyte h something mobo
Ssd boot
Ssd data
Hdd data

New:
I5 9600k dont think ill need an 9700k
16gb ddr4 3200mhz dual channel
Asus tuf z390 mobo
Keeping all other components

I am aiming to buy an 2080ti in a couple of months along with a hx850 corsair psu and then upgrade my monitor to 1440p.

This a good idea?
My main goal in the comming months is to be able to game at 1440p @ 144hz

HeatSink: CoolerMaster 212 evo (will upgrade this in the future to a noctua for OC'ing will use this for the interrim).

You own a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 650W unit? It's not clear from the way you've listed it in your specs. Mind also sharing how old the unit is? The Processor doesn't come with a cooler so you're going to need an aftermarket solution. Mind if I ask what the make and model of your case is?
