Question i5 9600k overclock

Hello there, I have a stock cooler in my cpu, I would like to overclock it but i dont know how to do it.

My cpu is runnning at 3.7ghz and it goes up to 4.3 when rendering things.
My PSU has 650w what are the best settings to get some more performance out of my cpu? thanks for the help!

8th and 9th generation intel core cpus generate lots of heat with only minor oc. A water cooler is required in most cases to prevent overheating and possible damage. Try stress testing with no oc and see if you get temps over 60C. If you see anything over 60C, dont think about overclocking.

For 1, you need a new cooler. A decent overclock on that cpu will exceed the cooling capability of the Hyper 212.

Next, post the PC's specs. You should be running either Z370 or Z390 motherboard to overclock that cpu.

3rd, 'Psu, 650w' doesn't mean jack. Quality is important. What's the make and model of the psu?
