Question i5 9600k + rtx 2060 or i5 8400/r5 2600x + rtx 2070

I have the incredibly difficult dilemma on deciding between these two configurations that I am forced to go with to fit my budget. The i5 9600k pairing would be overclocked well, with a fairly good cooler and mobo to go with the rtx 2060. The other pairing I am still not sure to go with the i5 8400 or r5 2600x, and any input there would be appreciated. I know the rtx 2070 is higher but is it worth downgrading the cpu in order to fit the budget? If both options are not good enough should I just try my best to keep the i5 9600k + rtx 2070 pairing?

My budget is $1400-$1500 at most.

Yes. The lower the resolution the higher the FPS the gpu can produce. The higher the FPS the higher the cpu load.

Another way of looking at is the cpu dictates the best FPS you can get. The gpu determines what resolution and game settings you can achieve that FPS at.

I know this is an old thread but I hope you got 9600k + 2070 there is really no reason not to do so at that budget
