I bought an i5 Intel CPU 4590 and installed it in an ASUS H87M Plus motherboard. I put the power supply, the case, a 4GB DDR3, and a 32GB mobile hard drive. Then I tried running it and I don't see anything in the monitor. But the power light is on on the motherboard, and the CPU fan is running. What am I now doing right?

You don't get it, read carefully , On motherboard physically there might be a sticker right by

There on that CHIP. Like for instance My H81M-DGS R2.0 Has it and that chip is actually BIOS

, if it has sticker you might know
which version of bios you have if not, then buying an cheap CPU or bios chip or if you have an floppy disc/motherboard CD to make it boot to flash bios.

Does not nothing appear on the monitor? Not even the message of invalid cpu, or a blinking script? Does not even change the tone of the black when pressing the power on?

Do you have a discrete GPU? How do you connect the monitor, to the output of the GPU or the motherboard?

To Warden,

Here is the Bios #, winbond 25Q64EA10, 1353. And yeah, I think it's removable. And it says UEFI BIOS.

To gingerrankin,

Yep. The power cable is connected to the motherboard, and the 3 prongs to the outlet. And I am using the built-in HDMI.

Well there is no sticker, now you have probably 3 options,
Buying an CPU that is supported by bios since release,
Bringing to the shop and asking them if they could update bios 0226 ,Core i5-4430,Core i5-4670,Core i7-4770,
Buying an new bios chip which could come cheap,

Now i think something else, which ram is in that slot? Have you tried any other slots?

To flash the bios you need a CPU that isnt a Haswell refreash.

Any of the following should work to update the bios

Your ram stick should also be moved over to the right one slot, the yellow slot (A2) per you manual page 1-9

To Robert Ban,

The memory slot at the leftmost is the A1 slot. I tried that other slot (B2 slot), placed the memory card there, turned it on, but nothing! And the memory card is a 4GB DDR3 1600 PC3 SDRAM.

You need to get your motherboard flashed to the newest bios, ether take it into a repair shop to have them do it or borrow any of the following cpus from a friend or coworker to update the bios before you can use the i5 4590

To faalin,

I did change the Bios chip from "winbond 25Q64EVA10, 1353" to "winbond 25Q64FV, 1418". I bought the supposed upgraded Bios chip from E-Bay. But it is still not doing anything! No bios at the monitor!
