Hey, so I am planning to switch to Ryzen 7 2700x from intel i5 4670K. Is it worth upgrading to Ryzen? I play games such as Rainbow Six Siege, edit videos, use photoshop, code etc... (Which means, I would have to change the motherboard, buy ddr4 ram etc...) What are your thoughts?

My current PC build:
• Intel i5 4670K (4 Cores, 4 Threads) Boosted to 4Ghz
• GIGABYTE Z97X-GAMING 5 Motherboard LGA 1150
• 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz (Corsair)
• GTX 1070 8GB
• CoolerMaster CPU Cooler
• 500GB m.2 SSD
• 128GB SSD
• 2TB HDD
• 1TB HDD
• CoolerMaster 600W PSU
• NZXT H700 Case

(If you are wondering why I have so much storage, I upgraded my 128GB ssd to 500GB but I went with m.2 ssd, from 1TB to 2TB but I left them in for more haha)

Go for 3rd generation ryzen.

Whether you get a 2700x or 3700x there will be a noticeable improvement over the 4670k, but the 3rd generation CPU is a better buy.

Even a 3600 is generally better than the 2700x
You see, I am trying to stay in a budget so I can't go for the 3700x keep in mind, I would have to change motherboards ($$), ddr4 ram ($$) as well as the cpu itself. ($$)

4790k is fine unless you plan on doing lots of video editing. I personally had a 4790k up until a few months ago. It's perfectly fine for if you wanna share your gameplay videos occasionally. It's still plenty of cpu for the GTX 1070. It's even fine for Battlefield V and that game needs a good cpu.
