I've been slowly piecing my new rig together on a budget and it's time for the brain.
Between the 6500 and the 6600K the 20-$40 difference would put the 6600K over the top easily for me but the lack of a stock cooler on the 66K and an additional component will put me back another 2-4 weeks and makes the difference closer to $100.
Or if anyone wants to throw a better bargain chip in the mix I am open to that too.
I game heavily and do a lot of photoshop/AE and video editing, how substantial of a performance difference am I looking at. This is going in a coolermaster mITX and I usually do not overclock.
Gaming wise even most Triple A titles I rarely have to turn down settings on my current system (e8600/nvidia750ti) which I don't mind. But I am looking in to doing some heavier rendering and my skillset in animation is moving up a bit.
Current components
EVGA Z170 Stinger
8gb crucial DDR 4 (will get another 8gb down the line)
600w corsair semi modular PSU
coolmaster mITX E-130 case
Recycling my nvidia 750ti pending a upgrade later
Signed,
Anxiously retiring my LGA775 E8600.
