I need to flashback a Asus b150m-a d3 in order to run an i5 (Kaby Lake problems, lol) but I need two things. 1. What is the proper name for the .cap file? 2. where is the flash button on my board?

You don't have a button on your board. You will have to use the EZ Flash tool in the UEFI. Go here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/B150M-A-D3/HelpDesk_Download/ and download the BIOS you need to a USB drive. Access EZ Flash and choose to update the BIOS from a USB drive and install whatever version you need. Are you trying to run a Kaby Lake on that board?

Yeah, I've got a i5 7600. I read that it was compatible and didn't realize "compatible" and "work out of the box" are two VASTLY different worlds when it comes to building a PC. It's a brand new board and a brand new CPU. Can you still EZ Flash a new board?
