AMD Athlon 64 3200+
2GB Ram
250GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0 SPEED Hard Drive
500W Antec Power Supply
DVD-R, DVD-R/RW
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
Antec Chassis
Windows 7 Ultimate

So my understanding is that i5 is better for gaming why is this? and the i7 i better for over clocking?

This is what i came up for him. Not into over clocking or water cooling right yet.Migh get a another GFX now for fans do i to get more? or what that is listing is fine even with a 2nd card down the road?

Case, stick with the Cooler Master HAF X Blue ATX Full Tower Case or go with the Phanteks Enthoo Series Primo Aluminum ATX Full Tower Case who knows he might what to water cool down the road.

The i5 is not better for gaming, it is simply cheaper for minimal performance loss. With a build like that though, I would recommend an i7. Redid your build to save some money on unnecessary parts, and fit the i7 in for the same amount :) That's an expensive case though... And expensive speakers + headset lol but hey, that's all up to you.
