hey!

simple question: should i get i5 + a SSD + 1TB HDD or i7 + just a HDD

and if you could name the best SSD under £100 and the best type of i5 (the i7 im buying comes up to £295 so the SDD + the i5 should be roughly the same price pref ably)

other system info:

16GB ram
Asrock extreme4
Asus GeForce 770

thanks

If you are just gaming, you'll see no performance difference in-game between the i5 and i7. Definitely go for the i5 and grab an SSD too - I would personally take a look this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Series-120GB-Solid-State/dp/B009LI7C5I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1373735324&sr=8-3&keywords=samsung+128gb
or this, if you can stretch another £10:

The second SSD is currently the best SSD on the market, but the 840 Basic in the first link is an awesome SSD too!

ok thanks - i can probably find other £10 and since im ordering the rest of the pc of amazon the links you gave are perfect 😉

Glad I could help! Samsung are renowned for manufacturing super-reliable and great performing drives, so I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a Samsung drive!

Don't forget to pick a solution to this thread so that it's marked as solved - posters really appreciate it! Good luck with your build! :)

Most definitely! It's a beast motherboard for the price - you'll get great overclocks and has plenty of connectors onboard! If you have any queries before you purchase your PC, don't hesitate to drop me a PM. Happy to help :)
