I got my gaming pc with a i5-7500 and a asus z270 prime-p motherboard , cause I could get them for a good price, but now when I think back, it just seems like the money was wasted in a z270 board, so I want to somehow utilize it , so I thought would it be feasible to get a i7-7700k with a cheap 240mm liquid cooler ? I use my system for gaming, video editing and sometimes for live streaming, I know the ideal answer would be ryzen 5 1600, but I don't wanna buy a new motherboard. Here is my build - :

1| You're going to need a new ram kit that is rated at least 2800~3200MHz frequency to hit that sweet spot.
2| You will need a beefy cooling solution.
3| And yes you could've had the build refined before pulling the trigger since some parts were better not chosen like the ODD and that SSD.

How much money are we allocating to adjust/rectify the mistake?

I was thinking about getting a corsair h100i as a cooler. Would that be enough for atleast minor overclocking, to somewhere base clock of 4.5?
