so i currently own a amd 6300 and i am seeking better performance for games. I came across how microcenter sell the i5 4670k for 180$. Should i wait and save up for an i7 or buy the i5 and overclock?

Solution
For just gaming, go with the I5.
Hyperthreading is a technology to synchronize work to get it done more efficiently, but that doesn't help real time workloads needed for games. An oc'ed I5 will do better than a stock I7 in gaming. However, an I5 4690k on base speed won't even bottleneck two 980's.

ok so I had found this deal and it was the 4690k and mobo and it expired today i think so do u have any mobo recommendation for 150-100 range

If you want to oc a bit higher, the Asrock Fatality Killer is a great board. If you like to get good features and great memory performance, the Gigabyte Z97x-sli or (u)d3h are great choices.
I personally have the SLI board and am satisfied, great board in that price range. However, the d3h would do about as well and for a bit cheaper you can get the Asrock Extreme 4. For $150 you could already get an asus z97a, but I personally don't see the extra price justified at all.
