Question i7 11700k and cpu-z

so i have told the bios to enable all cores ands also in msconfig/boot etc. but i cant work out why cpu-z says i only have 4 cores and wonder if its affecting performance. i have booted up a game and run stress test at the same time and the cores/threads dont change. i have my cpu set to core usage atm so wondered if more cores might pop up under load but that doesnt seem to show in cpu-z. cheers

You might need to do a bios update, for your motherboard.

thanks, just tried an update. a new version was installed but didnt change cpu-z 4 core to 8. i might try sync all cores in bios, thats the only other thing i can think of

hmm still showing 4 cores. stumped. mobo is asus 590-f rog strix

Hello, as the title states, my i7 8700k is being detected as 4 cores 8 threads by HWInfo, CPUZ as well as the Task Manager. I'm on the ASUS Z370-F motherboard. Not really sure where to go from here as I've never come across and issue like this.

mscofig/advanced unchecked the box that told how many processors, and now it looks correct

Was this a fresh install, or, swap mainboard/CPU and reboot utilizing an older previous install from another system?
