I7 2.8 VS. i7 2.66

I am completely confused..

Why is the 2.66 more expensive than the 2.8?

The 2.66ghz one is based on socket 1366, which is better than the 1156 socket of the other one. In reality though, the 1156 one is usually better because of turbo mode.

the i7 920 (bloomfield) has tri channel memory support, the socket based 1366 supports 16x sli/crossfire.

thr i7 860 (lynnfield) has dual channel support, sli only in 8x modes, has less memory bandwith

It's not. Either the same price (look at those NewEgg links) or the i7 860 is more expensive

the i7 860 has higher turbo boost and is a little bit faster, but if u want a futureproof system the x58 platform (i7 920) offers more advantages than the p55 platform (i7 860)
