Is a i7-2600 too weak for a GTX 970? In BF4 my fps drops to 40 sometimes. Usually it's 70ish on Ultra settings. Also is a i5-3470 stronger than a i7-2600? Thanks!

Ram speed could be an issue as could the ram's timings. If the speed is to low or the timings too loose, it could affect your FPS. What speed ram do you...
No your i7 2600 should be in no way bottlenecked for gaming with a GTX 970 unless gaming at <90 FPS and even then the bottleneck would be quiet small (ie 10-15 fps against a skylake based set-up with equal clock speed). People worry about CPU power way to much on toms in regards to gaming. I still run a i7 3930k with 2 GTX 1080s for a 4K setup for example. Your CPU should be good for another generation or two of CPUs before it becomes a real hinderance.

I have a i7-2600 is that still better? Thanks

Thank you! Now I know! It's just sometimes I get FPS drops in BF4 which is weird. I feel like it's the speed of my ram.

Ram speed could be an issue as could the ram's timings. If the speed is to low or the timings too loose, it could affect your FPS. What speed ram do you have and what are your timings? I run ddr3 2400@ DDR3 2133 9-11-11-28 T1 to keep things snappy. Also do yo play your game on an HDD or SSD?
