i7-2600 + GTX 1060 6GB compatible motherboards?

Just brought a gtx 1060 6GB to realise my system won’t boot, bios is beeping at me. It’s an oldish Hp pavilion build with 8GB ram, i7-2600 basic motherboard that it came with. From what I know of pcs it looks like the graphics card is not compatible with the motherboard.

Any idea what motherboards are? I had a look and the only ones I can see are like £150+

1) Make sure the HP motherboard has the newer BIOS.
2) Try this from nvidia support, if you used either win8 or win10.

Hi there thank you for the reply, the pc is currently in a repair shop but unfortunately he hasn’t really got a clue either he thinks the motherboard is to old for the gpu as well? I get it back on Monday so I will try what you have suggested and let you know! Thank you again
