i7-2600k and b520

Hi

As hardware manual for my Lenovo B520 AIO (i3-2120) , is supporting i7-2600 cpu,

Now the only available similar model is i7-2600k,

So is there any chance that i7-2600k wont work ?

the processors is supports is the i3-2120, i5-2320, i5-2500, and i7-2600. The i7-2600k just means that the cpu is unlocked and can be overclocked. The bios of the Lenovo most likely will not allow it to overclock.

The socket is the same for all the cpus listed so the 2600k will work in the motherboard, just watch the temps if your moving from a i3-2120 to an i7-2600k as the heatsink inside might not be able to handle it.

Going to go out on a limb here and guessing that he/she does not want to replace the motherboard in an AIO computer. let alone that will void the OEM copy of the OS so they would have to buy another new copy since in no way will Microsoft allow them to transfer the OS from a manufactured computer to an aftermarket Motherboard

Yes, but the problem with preassembled desktops like lenovo or so, is that they have in mind only a few cpus, they only put support for certain cpus in their motherboards, putting a 2600k may work, and may not work. Its not like an aftermarket motherboard that you can simply update the BIOS and support another cpu that wasn't there on the mobo release.

Thank you guys for your answers. although

1st , sure I never think of changed the motherboard , I will upgrade the ram and processor, component can be upgraded.

2nd, I am not into OC the cpu for now so I will be satisfied with i7-2600k without oc since it will work like 2600 due to being similar in all specifications , so if I am right if there is no oc there no overheating than expected by manufacturer ?

3rd I am forced to buy this cpu cause it's almost the available model could be supported by my device, buying from ebay or similar in my poor country , mmmmmmmm they took huge money in customs and taxes , bla bla bla .

Those are other components installed in my b520

This is the fan installed in my device DC280009RD0 Delta Twin Brushless Fan.
I think its the fan comes with B520 i7 models.

I think it will work without over heating.

it will have no issues. changing multiplier is not an option in the bios to lower it, so the cpu will run as default which multiplier.
