Hi Folks,

I've just had a new pre-built pc delivered and had ordered an i7-2600k overclocked up to 4.8ghz.

When i check the processor in device manager etc... it shows up as the 2600 only at 3.4ghz. I called their tech line and was told that sometimes the 2600k appears as 2600 only, which i find hard to believe. Is there anyway i could check one way or another for sure what processor i have been given?

Many Thanks

R

Not sure, but the 2600 only goes up to 4.2ghz and that is what they have overclocked it to in the bios. I'm not willing to accept an overclocked 2600 so it's going back to be replaced.
