Hi all

I'm not getting the game loading times I thought I would get with my intel 750 400gb pcie ssd.

It's almost the same as my single wd Raptor and my other 4 Raptors in raid 0.

Any ideas?

I have my i7 2600k under volted and clocked to 3.8ghz

Motherboard is a gigabyte z77x-ud3h

I have 12gbs of 2133 ram with 10-11-11-30. Not the best of timings 3x4gb not all from the kit. 1 stick has factory slower timings.

Is the clock speed slowing the gaming load times?

Another weird thing is when I drop my ram speed to 1866. My cpu get better benchmark scores. At the same timings.

Could there memory fetch errors at 2133?

If I try to tighten the timing at 1866 it benchmark scores are less.

So I'm not sure what to do. Except get pcie 3. Ha ha ha

One thing I note. I did put server fans on my cpu cooler which were too heavy and I was getting a few blue screens until I took them off. Gigigabyte has a weight limit for cpu coolers.

Thanks for help.

intel 750 400gb pcie ssd.

Features: PCIe 3.0 X4 NVM Express SSD

Motherboard has no BIOS support for booting from NVM Express storage devices.

That memory combination you have will cause problems. Such combinations will cause the memory to be unable to operate at rated specifications. Try running at a slower memory clock speed.

Yeah I did run it at 1866. And got better cpu scores in benchmarks but I haven't test alot yet in game loading. Im wondering why?

I forgot to mention that all 3 sticks of ram is rated for 2400mhz so 2133 is an underclock for them.

The games that I play are a modded fallout 4 and shadow of the tomb raider and gta 4

Both these game seemed to take the same amount to time to load whether or it's on a hard drive or the pcie ssd.

What if I swapped out my i7 2600k for i5 3570k? With the pcie 3 and then I could run my ram at 2400mhz +

I couldn't afford a 3770k.

I only game at 1080p

I took out my slower stick of ram and used the xmp memory profile with out stability problems. 2133mhz cl8 at 1.65v can't remember the timing off hand.

Still not much faster in game loading time. Is it my cpu clock speed?

For any one else that might find this information useful. It is my clock speed on my i7 2600k. At 3.8ghz it is able to Max out my rx 470 so I run it faster.

I overlooked it with my ram still running it at 2133mhz and in the increased in benchmarks ws greatest than the increase in clock speed so my ram speed is bottleneck by the CPU a little bit.

Thanks for your reply
