I7-2600k Turbo Boost not working

Hi guys,

From the title you can already see my problem... My i7-2600k turbo boost doesn't kick in?

I'm running a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H motherboard with a h70 liquid cooler.

I've set the clock to its normal rate @ 3.4, and changed the turbo for each core to 4.5, making sure the turbo option is enabled.
Keeping all my voltages on auto.

However looking at the board status, it still displays my turbo boost is at 3.4 and hasn't changed?

How have you confirmed Turbo Boost did not kick in?

You need to look at Task Manager-> Performance-> Speed, or MSI Afterburner (with CPU set to onscreen) or something similar to observe the current CPU frequency.

If you set each core multiplier to "45" in the BIOS then again you can only verify it works when running a demanding program like Prime95 (or most games).

Other:
Intel CPU Diagnostic will set everything to DEFAULT settings until you reboot. You can use it if you want for basic stability but it won't test your overclock.

Update: Just got the PICTURES now. I am looking closer..

1) Did you SAVE and go back into the BIOS?

2) If so, then I guess just TEST in Windows and see what is working. Unless you know "45" works, try "39" first since it's got a higher chance of success.

Once you get it working, then experiment with higher values.

The set value still shows stock 38-35. It might be clock ratio. Usually that is set to the highest turbo speed which explains why you can't even get stock turbo speeds. I'd suggest you enable c states as there really isn't much reason to disable them. Did you disable them?

Are you referring to "C3/C6 State Support"? That's shown as disabled.

As for Turbo, he HAS changed the Turbo values. The manually set values are on the right side. It's the other page that isn't reflecting the changes (which is why I asked if he saved and rebooted).

C1E is also a c state.

But the other page is not showing stock values which would be the 38-35 show on the first page. 34 being the limit and also the set cpu ratio. I was going to ask about saving and exiting as well but seeing that made me think something was already changed and saved. With other settings also changed and not needed, a reset maybe the best option and just change the cpu ratio. It's going to work the same way as setting turbo since it goes to that speed for any load. If you stick with auto voltages, keep an eye on them. Auto on sandy was known to go high.

Indeed i did save and go back into the bios, im just downloading a game to test now and ill get back to you, running aida64 just shows the CPU staying at a max of 3.4ghz, using HWMonitor to monitor the core speed

After playing a game, nothing has changed, im going to try clocking the turbo down to 3.8 and see if that works, if not ill just manually overclock it to 4.5ghz

Okay, so changing the core speed just normally for some reason changed the turbo ratio per core? And non-turbo stays 3.4...
