So i have got too options for my build all are used
i3 9100f,h310,8gb cl12 2666

i7 2600k,thermaltake nic c4(better than 212 evo),z77 and i already have the ram

The i3 build would be 25$ more, i have done some researches and i can overclock this 2600k to 4.7 ghz with this cooler

which i found 2600k 4.7 ghz is better than 9100f so should i go with it? main purpose is gaming tho

Solution
4 cores no matter the gen are core challenged now. 2600k for sure.

Though if you could sell the i3 and get an i7 8700 to replace it, that would be pretty good too.

Cinebench r15 results for 2600k 4.7 ghz (multi core/single core)

789/170

Looks like the 2600k outperforms the i3 in multicore but i3 outperform in single core

and i think the 4 more threads is what makes the 2600k a better choice than i3 because games started to utilize more cores and threads

Test it a few more times and compare them. Test results can vary just by the nature of testing.

I'm curious if a 4.7Ghz clock on these starts hitting close to (or beats) the 9100f's single thread because thats a solid boost and I've got 2x 2600k and one 3770k that I haven't pushed at all yet.

they are pretty close in single core
i saw someone that gets 178 on single core while my i7 gets 170

so pretty close, but the i7 beats it by 150 in multicore
