i7-2600k vs i7-3770 who will perform better in gaming

Hi so I really want to know who will perform better from i7-2600K vs i7-3770, so the 3770 as it is with its Turbo boost to 3.9ghz and on the other hand an overclocked 2600k to some 4.4-4.5 GHz
with GTX 1060 6GB Rog Strix + 16GB DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz Dual Channel, Windows 10 pro on SSD and cooling unit Deep Cool Maelstrom 120T.
Games BF1 most of it and BF5 when it comes out.
So, I want to know if overclocked 2600k will be better CPU than locked 3770 in gaming, and in general in some synthetic benchmarks as 3DMark, Cinebench etc.
Oh and the Motherboard that 3770 is on is ASRock H77M, and the Mobo for the 2600k will be Gigabyte Z77-DS3H. Please, I am addressing this issue that I have here cuz most of the experts are here and I need your help to know who of these two is better and by how much. Thank You

Im running an 2600k @ 4.5 with a 1080Ti and the cpu is holding up just fine. An overclocked 2600k will be faster than a locked 3770.

I agree, however purchasing a used K chip can be risky. You have no idea how much voltage was running through it and how much it was mistreated. If you can get a "golden" 2600k, it will be able to boost to 5ghz at 1.52v or less it will crush the 3770.

Well, I cannot find a New or GOLD one, I don't know what is GOLDen one, but this one is used but it's not old, and it's not pushed too much tho. Ok but look at single-core performance and quad-core performance who is better than this 2 cpu's if let's say we add the non K 3770 to x42 x41 x40 x39 core1 core 2 core 3 core 4 if we pushed a bit the 3770 as this will that make a difference, and in general who is better at stocks in single, and quad-core performance.

No at the moment I don't want to upgrade cuz I just got the 1060 6gb soon so I will stick to it until some time. And i am fine on 1080p.

Purchase the locked 3770. This way you know no one has been over volting the cpu.

Yes, I thought so, I am adding the i7-3770 it's newer though, PCI-E 3.0 will give better speed to GPU that is + 1 more advantage. And the i7-3770 is brand new it's shining, it's in an original box all that NEW.

Very similar CPU's, I've used 2600, 2600k and 3770k. 3770 at 4ghz is roughly the same as a 2600k at 4.2 in my opinion, can't go wrong either way.
PCI-3.0 on the 3770 is nice to have, but won't make much (if any) difference on a 1060. Personally I'd go for the 2600k, as having your 2600k at 4.5+ will be better than a stock 3770 and the 2600k runs cooler in general as they were the last soldered CPU's until the new 9-series.

Paired with a 1060 either of these will get the job done smoothly, the Sandy bridge/ivy bridge i7's can still get by in even the most demanding AAA titles. I have mine paired with a GTX 1080 and 1440p/144hz, and I don't see any bottlenecks.

Also FYI you can overclock the max turbo boost on the 3770(non k) 4 "bins" above stock if you use it on a Z68 or Z77 board, so you can take it from 3.9 -> 4.3

You'll be able to use faster DDR3 Ram with the i7 3770. So, if you ever found some cheap DDR3 2400Mhz Ram you'll be able to use it. If you had a GTX 1080 or 1080ti then the PCIE 2.0 vs 3.0 would probably become a factor. But, not with a 1060. However, if you plan on upgrading your card in the next year or so, the 3770 would be less likely to bottleneck the GPU compared to the 2600k because of the PCIE interface difference.

I agree and that's what I am going to do on Z77-DS3H Gigabyte and I plan to add the following core 4.2, 4.1, 4.0, 3.9
