i7, 2700k. What is the best memory to get?

I currently have 2133mhz, and its the wrong memory, for my cpu and mobo. my mobo is not quad channel like my memory.

I have a byte z68x-ud3h-b3 with a i7 2700k.

What memory should I be using?

What do you mean its wrong? Memory isnt "quad channel" the motherboard can be though like x79 board.

If you mean you have 4 sticks, then it doesnt matter, it still works in dual channel.

RobCrezz is rigth, your DRAM may be 4 sticks but it's running in dual channel which is all your SB CPU can do...and 2133 is a good freq, might get the 2700K to run 2400 or possibly better sticks, but 2133 is perfectly fine

Okay, that all makes sense, but my ram is not running the way it should, and what I mean by that is that CPU-Z is not detecting the ram properly, and giving it the right stats. My mobo does not properly detect whats in it. I checked specifications and the i7 2700k works up to 1600mhz, not 2133 like I thought. the core i7 2700k only supports 1066/1333, with an intel rep saying 1600 will work but no more than @ 1.575 volts.

Do I just change what my ram setting is it in the bios to compensate and I'll be okay?

The reason I want to change ram, because I feel the ram I have now is a hinderance to my system. I can barely run games on ultra at 60 fps. If ram is not my issue, what is causing my system to run so poorly? There has to be a reason I'm getting 30 fps in games!

Go into the BIOS, the advanced area, and enable XMP then select Profile 1, that should set your DRAM to 2133, then you can look in CPU-Z in the Memory tab and it should show as 1066 (this is DDR (DOUBLE data rate) so take true freq (1066 times 2 = 2133 effective freq
