i7-3720qm core temps differ. Is this normal?

I've been monitoring my cpu temps using Core Temp and have re-applied my thermal paste multiple times but I am still getting the same rsuresults...

Core #0 = 79-80º Celsius
Core #1 = ~88º Celsius
Core #2 = ~97º Celsius
Core #3 = ~98º Celsius

I have covered the entire surface in Arctic Silver 5 and MX-4 with the same results.

Is this normal? The fan is working good and I've thoroughly dusted the insides. What could be wrong?

So this is a laptop right? doesnt sound like the fan is working correctly if you have re applied the paste. Either that or you applied too much paste.

It sounds silly, but are you 100% you replaced the paste on the CPU and not the GPU (assuming you have a dedicated nvidia or something).

Have you checked your fan speed?

I'm positive I applied it to the CPU. Ill check the fan speed. Ill verify the fan speed. Going to get ice cream to cool me off lol
