is this normal i have a hyper x 212 evo aswell so its not even a stock cooler seems a bit high i have a dual monitor setup tho so idk if this will increase the temps i just noticed it in hw monitor and thought i would ask
I know you fixed, but possibly double check to make sure your fans are facing the right way in your case. If your fans are on backwards it can create a vacuum increasing your temperature.
seems like the cooler could be loose. perhaps one screw is off? re-seating it (you will need fresh paste) might be the solution. also does the fan look to be doing its job well?
what kind of air flow settup is in your case?

well i put new paste on about 2 weeks ago maybe and i definitely checked the screws were all down and tightened so im not sure if it could be that, i just tried to remove it and it was very difficult due to the screws being so tight, the fan looks like it is working well it is pushing air out towards the back of my computer fan so i think this should be fine im not sure what the problem can be i guess i could try replacing the paste again
75c is safe. Throttle temp for that CPU is 105c and shutdown temperature is 130c. You probably don't want to run it at 105c all day, but Intel has confidence that it will last a long time at that temperature, as they still provide a warranty for it.
Something to think about - 75c on your i7 is probably equivalent to something like 40-50c on an AMD CPU, because the sensor is located in a different place. AMD's temperature sensor isn't as close to the hottest parts of the CPU, and so would read much lower, even if both chips are at the same temps.

I have one fan at the front of the case and one at the back, the cooler on my cpu and that is it excluding graphics card fans i got it build for me before i knew anything about computers big mistake
only thing I can think is that when you swapped out the paste something did not seat right. sometimes the back plate can be off as well. those temps are up from before right?

i mean i don't monitor it like all the time i should really but i have not seen it in the 70s in a while but i could be wrong as another user has just commented the max temp is 130degrees which i did not know so it could be fine im not sure i will replace the paste though just to make sure no harm in making sure
I don't know anyone that has ever seen an Intel CPU damaged by heat at stock clocks. Maybe if you were overclocking, I'd suggest bothering with it, but I wouldn't be remotely concerned until it started creeping up into the 90's. Intel laptop CPUs (same physical die) run close to 100c for years without issue.

I just feel those temps are stock cooler temps not Hyper 212 evo temps.
It does seem a bit high, yeah, but there's a lot of variability in Ivy Bridge temperatures, due to the inconsistent gap between heatspreader and die, and this falls within the bounds of normal, if on the high end.
You may want to completely remount the heatsink with new paste (not too much!). If you don't its no big deal as 75C isn't too hot for your cpu. Its not what I would expect from that cpu, but your case airflow matters as well as other variables like room temps.

I just remounted and reapplied the thermal paste and i seem to be getting the same temps on CS GO im not sure what it is but one of the nuts on my backing plate of my cooler is like stuck to the screw and does not want to come out but the cooler seems firmly seated like its not moving at all off the heat sink so idk if that could be an issue....
Same temps eh. Are you using a fan profile in windows app, fan controller, bios? You could try adjusting those if they are running too slowly for your liking. That will increase noise of course, but its worth a shot.
What motherboard are you using? There may be bios controls. I used to use speedfan, its free, but hardly works for me anymore. You could use a fan controller too. How are your case fans set up now?

ffs i just limited fps in cs go my cpu temps at 63 highest in 2 games and my gpu temps are way lower too seems like that was my problem.... Had this same fix in wow too seems some games ramp up your temps if your fps limit is too high annoying
