i7 3770 normal temp while gaming ?

smsm_blackfire,

Gaming is not the proper way to determine acceptable operating temperatures.

What are your system specs and ambient temperature?

There are proper methods to test your rig at load as well as at idle to get valid thermal benchmarks.

It's all in this Tom's Sticky: Intel Temperature Guide - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

Solution

If you are in the 30s at idle and low 70s when gaming then you have nothing to worry about. Yes you can do a bunch of tests on your CPU if you want to. If you are overclocking you want to rigorously test your CPU. However if you are not overclocking, don't worry about it. Those temps are normal.

my spec :
Gigabyte gtx 770 4G
ram 8G
psu HEC Cougar 700w
motherboard Gigabyte GA-P61-USB3-B3
I have the air conditioner in the room

smsm_blackfire 2,

Can you perhaps estimate your ambient temperature? Maybe this will help:

Section 2 - Ambient Temperature

Also called "room" temperature, this is the temperature measured at your computer's air intake. Standard Ambient temperature is 22C. This is a very critical measurement, because Ambient directly affects all computer temperatures. Use a trusted analog, digital or IR thermometer to measure Ambient temperature.

Here's the temperature conversions and a short scale:

Cx9/5+32=F ... or ... F-32/9x5=C ... or more simply ... an increase of 1C = an increase of 1.8F

30.0C = 86.0F Hot
29.0C = 84.2F
28.0C = 82.4F
27.0C = 80.6F
26.0C = 78.8F Warm
25.0C = 77.0F
24.0C = 75.2F
23.0C = 73.4F
22.0C = 71.6F Standard ... or ... 22.2C = 72.0F
21.0C = 69.8F
20.0C = 68.0F Cool

With conventional air or liquid cooling, no temperatures can be less than or equal to Ambient.

As Ambient temperature increases, thermal headroom and overclocking potential decreases.

smsm_blackfire 2,

Please download and run Small FFT's for 10 minutes: Prime95 version 26.6 - http://windows-downloads-center.blogspot.com/2011/04/prime95-266.html

Please do not use any other version. Please use only version 26.6. This will give us your load temperature.

Thanks,

CT :sol:

ok on full load temperature reached 80 is this considered high temperature ?

Thank you for that info. We use your ambient to correct your core temperatures to Intel's lab test standard.

At 80c with P95 V26.6 Small FFT's at 25C ambient, that would be equal to 77C corrected to 22C Standard Ambient.

So yes, since you've verified that your load temperatures are in the mid-70's, you're in good shape!

If I were you, I would declare a thermal victory, consume numerous large overclocked beers, and enjoy your rig! :sol:

Thank you very much for your precious time you really helped me a lot 😍

...So...it's basically what I told you from the start lol. You're in the 70s under load and in the 30s at idle. This is perfectly normal.

yeah thank you very much dude 😍

That's very kind and thoughtful of you to put it that way. You're absolutely right! 😀

I think the most important points to take away are that we need to give smsm_blackfire credit for learning a few things about his processor temperatures, and that he now knows for certain exactly what his load temperatures really are.

Also, if he wants to test his temperatures again sometime in the future, he now knows how to do it properly.

You are right. It is always good to learn something more on Tomshardware than just your immediate question. I was just laughing about it though.
