Hi guys,

My current PC is,
i5 3470
8gb ram
GTX 1060

My Little sister is in college now and her course is IT. she needs a decent PC because her old E5200 is freezing when she's running her programming, coding and rendering projects. so im willing to give her my i5 3470+mobo+ram,

i'll keep my 1060 and upgrade from scratch, my budget is 260$ (mobo+procie+ram)

with that budget i can only buy a used ryzen 1500x with biostar mobo. or brand new Ryzen 2200g with asus prime a320 board. both with 4gbx2 ddr4 ram. can't push to i3 8100 sadly.

my other option is to keep everything and buy i7 3770. give my i5 to my lil sis and buy a cheap h61+4gb ram. and my overall expenses would only be 180$.

so ryzen 1500x, 2200g, or i7 3770?

my self conflict is the cost of new components versus the improvement in fps i'll gain is really isn't worth it. for me to be honest i'm fine with my 3470 but i have no choice to upgrade. so should i go spend all of my 260$ or go for the cheaper alternative, drawback of the 3770 is i'll be stuck with an old ddr3 and ivy bridge processor

sorry for bad english and thanks everyone

Hey,

I suggest you to go with ryzen 2200g with asus prime a320board.A decent mobo with decent cpu.

I dont think so ryzen 1500x with a biostar used mobo will be much use.It had been a different case if it was a new one completely.

I hope this helps.
Thank you,
Ishaan

Don't know how to reply or tag comments.

I saw a similar post with the same mobo+procie and 2nd hand shop and that guy is also from the philippines. The comments there are they dont recomend the biostar board. Is that how bad biostar products are? Even pair with 1500x?

go with the 2200g and upgrade down the line don't go with the 1500x, as in my opinion its the most pointless CPU in the entire ryzen lineup
