hello i have msi z77-ga43

and just entered the bios and changed the cpu ratio to 4.3 (the max he let me choose is 4.3)
i restrated, when windows in i saw in the task manager that the ratio is stuck on 5Ghz and not moving.
so i changed the ratio back to 3.4 and now it wont go up? it stuck on 3.4.
how do i change that only when it turbo boost it will go to 4.3?

Solution
If you raised it to 4.3, there will be no turbo. Once you overclock it automatically disables the turbo.

If you raised to 4.3 and you cant get it back to 3.4, then clear the CMOS or reset the mobo.
Pending the CPU power settings, it may not turbo at idle. This is a power saving feature. You may want to see what the clockspeed is when the CPU is under load. I would download Intel XTU. There is a build in benchmark there, it will tell you exactly what the clockspeed is while running the benchmark.

If XTU says 3.4 when you run the benchmark, then shut down the system and clear the CMOS. To clear the CMOS remove the batter form the mobo for about 10 seconds. The battery is round and about the size of a quarter. Then boot back up and it will reset the bios to factory defaults.

i forgot to mention i have z77 ga43

The 3770 is a locked CPU. So it does not matter if you have a z77 board. Karadjgne is right, I did not notice it was a 3770. 3.4 is the base clock and 3.9 is the boost. That is all you will get out of it.
