So i got an offer for an i7 3770 non K for 75$ and i currently own an i5 3570k. I mainly do heavy editing with sony vegas and play csgo / league. so would it be worth buying it since i cant afford to upgrade my platform yet
Yes, it's definitely worth it. I7 3770 is still a more than capable processor.
how well would it perform in sony vegas? i mainly do effect heavy csgo edits that brings my i5 to its knees, will the preview window lag? because that's one of my biggest problems right now that sony vegas is hogging my cpu for 100% and causing lags
It has the same frequency as your i5, but it has double the threads. I am not familiar with how well Sony Veges utilizes multiple threads but I would assume it can since it is good software. If it can utilize the extra threads then you should see significant gains.

^ Agreed. For editing you should get noticeable performance gains. For CSGO/LoL, not so much. It is still a steal at that price, if you have the money and need the extra performance definitely a good buy.

Honestly rendering brings every CPU to their knees. I doubt you'll get lower usage but the rendering times will decrease pretty flawlessly.

Yeah i know about the rendering times but im wondering about the editing process, will vegas run smoother while editing heavy effects with velocity and is it by a big margain?

Yes it should run smoother but I can't tell the margin. Probably around 10%.
