Question i7-3770K replace i5-3470T?

Is this substitution really doable?

I have a Dell Precision T1700 SFF box with the i5. This is a pretty small box, toughly 12" square in plan view and 4" high. Running a pair of 500 SSDs and a 1TB Intel nvme. W10, but could upg to W11 because it has TPM. I have an i7-3770K I could "drop in"<G> but for just browsing, email, and such would it be worth the effort?: I am not a gamer, I purge them from my systems. My "serious" work is dtp on an i7-2600K and Ryzen 7-3700X.

I just wonder if the cooling could handle the extra watts of heat generated.

it is doable? yes. Is it worth it? i dont think so if it's much more expensive then the 3470, and it only got higher clocks and 8 threads, better of with E3 1240 v2 or E3 1270 v2, should be more cheaper for the same performance, but u need gpu output.

At no extra cost? Go for i7 for sure
You can then disable smt if temps really bother you, cpu still needs to get under load to heat up
