Hello all,

I currently finished building my first computer and when I start it up the bios tells me that my CPU is running at 39C which I assume since no software or OS is idle temp. I feel like that is too high considering I am not using stock cooler or O.C.. Is this an okay temp? Do I need to make some sort of changes?

CPU: Intel i7 3770k
Fan and Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Thermal Paste: Artic 5 Silver

Thanks!!!

Unless you are running your PC in a controlled env with the same room temperature as your comparison you gain nothing.

BIOS temps shouldn't be higher than CPU load temps in Windows, but should be higher than idle temps in Windows.

40C is nothing for silicon, that's why it is used.

If it gets over 85C consider doing something about it.

Glad to hear I just needed to make sure before I load my OS and fry my shiny new CPU. Thanks for the quick reply
