I have an i73820 with 2 GTX680s. I just ordered 2 EVGA 970 FTW's. Will my 3820 Bottleneck my GPUs? I feel like it bottlenecks on DCS and ARMA3 when playing in 5760X1080 as the SLI indicator never maxes out for either program but when looking at task manager my CPU does not peak, though I recon with Windows 10 and Bohemia optimizing the engine as such it may utilize my chip better. I have a rampage extreme 4 motherboard but have never used it to overclock my PC. I know there is a superior chip for that socket (LG2011) but I'm not sure I'll gain all that much through upgrading. Most of my gaming happens to be PCars and Assetto Corsa.

Solution
A 3820 should not bottleneck 2 970s in all but the most CPU-intensive of games, and even then it's unlikely. You probably could net some more single-threaded performance pretty easily by overclocking (Sandy parts tend to be great overclockers - you could certainly get to 4.0 GHz and probably up to 4.5 without much hassle) for those games that don't scale that well with multiple cores. But in any case it wouldn't be necessary and you should be good to go with your upgrade.
