So today when I booted up my PC it ran fine for a short while and then crashed. Booting it up again I ran HWMonitor and saw my CPU was reading around 100 degrees on all cores.

I'm running the CPU with a Coolermaster 120M Seidon liquid cooler. I've cleaned out the PC and re-applied thermal paste twice now. I've done the paste multiple times and know not to put it on too thickly so I do not believe that is the issue.

Could the water loop have failed? I have no idea how to check that if so.

Any help on diagnosing it is appreciated!

Unless you have socket warp which isn't very common I'm pretty sure it's clogged or the pump is just dead dead. You can try using another power connector but that is about it. Shaking it just will knock the gunk inside of it somewhere else until it clogs something else up. if you do buy a new one I would just go ahead after you get your new one and open up the old one and look inside.

If you have a big enough case for it I would just get a non liquid cooler this time around.
As it is a factory sealed unit, there's not much you can do without voiding the Warranty.

Some sealed units do have air inside and sometimes it gets caught in the pump. If your rad is higher than the pump, then shaking the radiator unit whilst unattached can sometimes bring the Air to the top of the unit where it would stay and probably not effect it's ability to cool.
If you have had the unit a while and there's a dust build up inside the radiator then that can be cleaned, other wise return the unit under warranty.
