i7 3930K temps

I'm running an i7 3930K with an H100i cooler. I didnt much care for the loudness of the standard fans on the cooler so I put two Noctua Nf-p12 in push configuration on it and then also two COUGAR CF-V12H in pull configuration. I am getting max temps in "core temp" of 75 degrees C after 3 hours of continuous 100% usage, running should I be concerned at all with these temps? Also in Corsair Link it is showing temps in the 72-73 degrees C range.

PS the cpu is overclocked to 4.375 Ghz, and I have two 680 GTX's in the case generating heat, but they max out at 51 degrees C.

personally i like to keep below 65C though i have an active experiment going on one cpu that hits 80C at full load. i had it for 3 years (i7 920)now. that said i do not encourage nor am reasonable for your cpu should it die. 75C is a little hot for a full time overclock. ultimately the choice is yours and the risk as well.

mine regularly got into the mid high 70s on an h100 at 4.2-4.3. its in the 60s now on a full water loop. its max is 91 I believe so you should be fine, as long as your normal temps (when not running stability tests) are safely far away.

if your stable i wouldn't stress it. just know your cpu will age a little bit faster is all..

I found that trying to cool my 3960x with an H100 was a bad idea. It would regularly hit temperatures in the 70+ range when running at 4.0Ghz. Under Intel Burn Test conditions the cores would actually hit their throttle point of 90 degrees. It's a massive chip with lots of heat generating components and the H100 simply isn't sufficient to cool it when overclocked. After replacing the H100 with a full Swiftech cooling loop I'm now able to run it at 4.5Ghz continuously. Under IBT conditions, the package temperature is usually between 60 and 62 degrees with the cores between 65 and 70.

they are generally in the 40-50 degrees C range when I'm just generally surfing the web or in other words when i'm not stressing the cpu, the only time it creeps into the low to mid 70's is when i'm running folding @ home, never seen it go above 75 though.

It certainly is. My old PC had a kickass loop cooling a QX9650, 780i SLI North Bridge (which drew more power than most CPUs), South Bridge, VRMs, and two GTX 280 graphics cards. If you decide to go that route, try and get a 120x360 radiator, high static pressure fans, and a high flow rate pump such as the MCP655

What is your PC room's temp?

I'm at 22C. My H80/3930k combo are around 10C cooler than yours (30-40C) while browsing at stock clock settings. Prime 95 peaks at 65C after 3 hours.

closed loop coolers are only on par with high end air cooling. if you want lower temps you really need to go full open loop water cooling.
