hi
i want to buy a pc that can handle games smoothly using the geforce 840m(mid-range) but i can't choose wich one of these laptops :
1- dell inspiron 3542 : ram 8gb
cpu i7-4510u(2.0 ghz up to 3.1 ghz)
gpu geforce 840m 2gb
hd led 768*1366 15.6 inch
2- LENOVO Z5070 : ram 6gb(upgrdable to 16 gb)
cpu i5-4210u(1.7 ghz up to 2.7 ghz)
gpu geforce 840m 4gb
hd led 768*1366 15.6 inch
the cheaper one
3- HP Pavilion 15-p212nk : ram 6gb(upgrdable to 16 gb)
cpu i5-5200u(2.2 ghz up to 2.7 ghz)
gpu geforce 840m 4gb
hd led 768*1366 15.6 inch

so i want the lenovo z5070 but can the i5-4210u will be great for gaming with 840m or the other cpu s much better ??? i just want the 840m to perform to it's max power so that cpu can help it to do that (i5-4210u) ???

i7-4510u or i5-5220u or i5-4210u better gaming with geforce 840m ???

Solution
no.3 is the best overall.

but honestly you wont really notice much of a difference between any of them, except no.3 will have better battery life. the 840m wont allow any game settings that would reveal a cpu bottleneck anyways.

how much are you trying to spend money wise???

thanks even i think that i5-5200u is the better one but i was not sure :)

take it the gt 940m is much better then 840m and the cpu is good

the 940m is just a higher clocked 840m, though the difference is small. the skylake 6200u is a newer generation processor that will offer slightly improved performance and better battery life.

not knowing how much money you were finding the lenovo or hp models you found makes it hard to say if its worth it to get the one i linked though. price is everything.

hp is the expensive one (800 dollar) but lenovo is the cheaper one( 550 dollar) and the dell is (750 dollar)
