i7-4700HQ Moderate Temperatures

well mobile cpu temps depends on many thing and cannot be compered that easily as desktop cpu. different brands have different cooling method thus different outcome.some laptops have one huge heatsing that also cools the gpu with one or more fans to do so. the size of the laptop is also important. larger laptops have better cooling ability.also the surface that laptop operates also is very important.so to compare your temps must be with a same laptop.what is yours anyway.

The max temperature of that processor is 100c. (See link at page 74-75, Table 25).

That's really all you need to know. Keep it under that. An adequate cooling solution should keep it at least 10c cooler (hopefully 20c cooler) than that under load. Idle will be roughly half. I give rough estimates because it's based on your cooler, but just keep in mind that the i7-4700HQ is rated by Intel's (very rigorous) quality control for operation up to 100c. 😀
