i7 4770 90C

My friends i7 4770(non overclock because you cant...) is around 80c idle
it is using stock cooler -thermal paste hasn't been replaced in over a year.
Will a neww cooler fix it?

Intel's stock cooler sucks... Double check that the every peg is seated properly the plastic retention pegs are near worthless...

Even with Intel's stock cooler, it should not idle at 80c - more like 25-40c, depending on your climate. If it's idle at 80c, either the fan is not spinning or the cooler is not mounted correctly.
