Hello,

Firstly I have a i7 4770 CPU but as you know on the Title my CPU reachs 100 Degrees when i run Prime95. It Directly runs 100 Degrees! example: When i start prime95 after 2 seconds my CPU temperatures reachs 77 Degrees and after 10 seconds it reachs 100 Degrees!

I reapplyed Thermal paste twice i reinstalled my CPU Fan (Intel Stock Fan) too many times! Why is this happening I don't know. I will a solution that works %100

Thermal Compound: Artic Silver MX-2
Used to clean the old thermal compound: Isopropyl alcohol (%100 alcohol)

PC Specs:
CPU :Intel i7 4770 CPU 3.4 GHZ (Turbo Boost 3.9)
GPU: Palit Geforce GTX 770 Jetstream 1150/7010
RAM: Kingston RAM 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHZ (8/8)
HDD: 1 TB Western Digital + 250 GB SSD Samsung 840 Evo
PSU: 630 WATT Thermaltake Berlin +80 Plus Silver
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H rev 1.0
CPU COOLER: Intel Stock Fan
CASE: Cooler Master Silencio 650 Pure

Thanks

Solution
Clean both the CPU and bottom of the heatsink, assuming it does not already have paste applied, with lint-free fabric and rubbing alcohol/isopropanol 90% or greater. New Intel stock heatsinks have paste when new.

Squeeze a blob of paste about the size of a small pea in the center of the CPU and fix the heatsink in place.

You can go down to a micro-center and purchase one from there, if you live by one.

Only solution you have is go to a brick and mortor store since you wont use credit cards on the net and get you a different Heat sink Fan combo.
Because the factory one isn't up to par to be stress testing your cpu all the time really ask anyone there about worthless.

26.7? I use 26.6 and it is 'safe'; anything more modern uses 'dangerous' stresses for Haswell. Don't know about 26.7.

There is no 'solution' That is normal behavior for your system. Unless you get a much better cooling solution this is as good as it gets. Are you in a major urban area of the USA, most have stores somewhere you can buy components from, otherwise, you may be very much out of luck? Or, you can pay someone else to get the cooler for you.

Have bought hundreds of things through Amazon with Debit and CCs. Never had an unresolved issue, and quickly too, with em. They have an A to + Guarantee. Even have an Amazon CC and Prime. Other places, on line or otherwise, b + m stuffs etc. haven't had as much success with.
Just us here.

Okay thanks I am going to buy a cooler master 212 but just last question How to apply a thermal paste for the stock fan? There is a different kind of apply technics Which is the best one for the Intel stock fan ? Thanks

Okan Guclu,

Do NOT run any versions of Prime95 later than 26.6. Here's why:

Core i 2nd through 6th Generation CPU's have AVX (Advanced Vector Extension) instruction sets. Recent versions of Prime95, such as 28.7, run AVX code on the Floating Point Unit (FPU) math coprocessor, which produces unrealistically high temperatures. The FPU test in the utility AIDA64 shows similar results.

Prime95 v26.6 produces temperatures on 3rd through 6th Generation processors more consistent with 2nd Generation, which also have AVX instructions, but do not suffer from thermal extremes due to having a soldered Integrated Heat Spreader and a significantly larger Die.

Please download Prime95 version 26.6 - http://windows-downloads-center.blogspot.com/2011/04/prime95-266.html

Run only Small FFT’s for 10 minutes.

Use Real Temp to measure your Core temperatures, as it was developed specifically for Intel processors: Real Temp - http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2089/real-temp-3-70/

Your Core temperatures will test 20C lower with v26.6 than with v28.7.

Give it a try.
