i7 4770k idle temps

Hello

I just finished building my new pc, its booting up as it should be with no issues at all as far as i can see, but im wondering a thing concerning its idle temps in ASrock bios HW monitor.

Im getting 38-39 celcius while idle using a "Noctua NH-U14S " heatsink instead of intels normal cooler they sent with the cpu.

Is a temp that high normal for this cpu especially with a third party cooler?

Well it's not the best, but definitely not bad. The problem is probably in your thermal compound.. The coolers a great one though.

I'm avg 29-33c on idle using a passive cooler. My HD-6670 is also passively cooled and its idling between 38-45c.

i7 4770k 3.5ghz
Cooler Master Z600 with an Antic Mini tower case.

I haven't tested it out yet but I will probably need a fan for playing games.

Same issue as you.
36-39 C depending on my fan speed. Corsair H60 cooler (although its kinda old now).
i7 4770k, temps from MSI bios screen.

my I7 3770(1155 LGA) Ivy Bridge idles at 25-30 C. Corsair h100 water cooler. (the first gen version). MY cpu is standard 3.5Ghz.
But i have boosted it to 4.4Ghz. So it's idle is pretty good .
