Hello,

Due to the release of i7 4790k, Did it really overcame i7 4770K in all aspects? I am basically a Gamer and I wanna know, Should I actually upgrade to 4790k? Is there a lot of major difference between these two CPUs?

Or should I just save my money and buy a powerful CPU next year along with an Nvidia Pascal GPU? Please tell me what should I do :)

Solution
At the rate CPU performance is progressing, I doubt there will be anything really worth replacing an i7-4770 with within the next three years unless you enjoy throwing money out the windows just to have the model of the year.
you shouldnt have to buy a more powerfull CPU for a few years. the 4790k isn't much more powerfull, the main differences are the difference in clockspeed and the thermal packaging. give it a bit of an OC and it's pretty much the same.
but trust me the 4770K will last you a good long while still. no need to upgrade!

I couldnt say it better! intell seems to be focussing on adding more cores, they're pretty much at a standstill in getting higher clockspeeds by the looks of it
