I'm wanting to add another gpu to my build (4770k cpu). I know the i7 4770k can only support 2x16 lanes of PCIe support, adequate for a standalone SLI setup. However, I've got a new Intel 750 series SSD also on the board. Am I thinking this correctly: the lack of support for that many lanes will either bottleneck performance of the SLI gpu's and/or inhibit use of the SSD? So the only way around this is to upgrade my cpu and thus my mb? Thanks in advance.

Solution
You actually have two sets of pcie lanes so too speak.16 PCIe 3.0 lanes provided directly from the cpu with which you can run 2 Nvidia cards or 3 AMD cards and 8 × PCIe 2.0 which is provided by the PCH so you could run them. You need to make sure that your motherboard has the right slots for it and that the ssd supports pcie 2.0
