[SOLVED] i7 4770k to Ryzen 2700x. Upgrade or sidegrade?

Hello everyone

I'm currently running a 2080ti, with my 4770k @4.3ghz (haven't been able to get it stable at anything higher) and gaming at 3440x1440 120hz and 2140p 60hz.

I've been noticing some slowdown and lower frames than I would like in both games, and think the culprit is my CPU as it tends to be maxed out.

Is the upgrade to Ryzen going to yield the results I'm thinking it will? I'm not interested in the 8700k or any 9th gen Intel processors as I'd like to give team red a chance and also like the idea of the AM4 socket being supported until 2020.

I'm honestly just looking to further future proof my PC for another 4-5 years. Thanks in advance!

Solution
If future proofing, you can look at the Ryzen 7 2000 series processors. Outside of that I think you can hold out a little until the 3000 series come to be. How much do you intend on spending for your upgrades? Your upgrade would be a hefty chunk of your wallet since it'll require a B450/X470 chipset board, then add a dual channel DDR4-3200MHz ram kit.
