Hi I'm building a computer and I was wondering what would perform better the 8350 or the 4770k. I want to know if which will be better at rendering for C4D and playing light games like CS:GO. Also note that if I do get the 8350 it will be overclocked to 4.5ish Ghz. Also i will be using the GTX 960 for all of these! Thank You!

In both cases your 960 would be the limiting factor. With an i7 or the 8350 OC'd like that, they should both allow the 960 to perform to its maximum. With that in mind, you're unlikely to notice much difference in games at all.

Regarding rendering and other actions, the i7 will perform better in almost every situation. There are a few cases where the 8350 can almost keep up, however these are few and far between.

As you are into rendering and gaming at a same time, you would be benefited with stronger core architecture and multi-threading. Grab i7 4770k or 4790k (because price is same). Intel CPUs have few but stronger cores and their underlying structure is equally augments the cores. Stick with Intel i7 for your case. :)

Well for rendering I would go for the i7 just because they are optimized for that and it runs cooler and uses less power but I would actually go with the i7 4790k because its better than the 4770k and its cheaper and if you do go with the i7 you will be future proofed for awhile and you can always upgrade your GPU down the road

I believe Superbiz is actually selling the i7 4790k for $327 (about $20 less than most sites are selling the 4770k for). The i7 4790k will perform much better than an FX 8350, even if the FX is overclocked. However if you want to save 160-180 bucks than go ahead and get the FX 8350; just because the i7 has better performance in most applications does not mean that the FX cpu is by extension useless. I happen to really like Vishera performance, obviously it could be a lot better, but still it is a pretty good quality product and unless you plan on spending over $350 on your gpu then you aren't going to be able to hit the ceiling of that i7 anyway. Go big on an investment: get the 4790k, or go budget and get an 8350. I don't think you'll be unhappy either way.
