i7 4770k vs FX 9590 for mostly gaming

Hi, I have some left over Christmas budget (around 500$), since my CPU right now is dying and I can't decide to go with either of the CPUs. If I get the 9590 i will have to get water cooling and if I get the i7 4770k I have to switch to a new motherboard. What are the performance differences between the 2 CPUs if any at all?
My system specs right now:
AMD FX 8150 4.26Ghz
MSI GTX 770 4GDDR5
ASUS Crosshair Formula Z
16GB DDR3 882MHz RAM.

+1 ^^ 8350 with overclock can almost match a 9590. Save money for another upgrade.

Your best bet is to get the 8320/8350 to replace your 8150.. Your best performance is the 4770k. It's up to you to decide if $500 for the small noticeable improvement in FPS is worth it.

FX9590 would be the better upgrade for the money. But the FX8350 is even better yet for the money and your current hardware, I'd only get the 9590 if you don't want to mess with overclocking, but the 8350 should get vary close to that of the 9590. You could even consider the 8320 for cheaper yet, most OC just as well as the 8350, and use the extra money for another 770.

Both are good for the latest games for now but I prefer the I7 for the future.

Dont go with the 9xxx AMD cpu series as is was a rushed, and simply a failure trying to get on intels extreme CPU level.
I would recommend a 8320 with a decent cooler as you will reach the same levels as with ANY 9xxx series.

Or if you want to spend extra on the core i7 and a new motherboard that would be decent too.

Go with the I7-4770kk TDP Is SO much lower, needs less cooling power, and still has alot of room to OC. And if you really want that AMD 9590 go with a 8320/8350 and OC it your self. its not worth paying all the extra money for something that you can do your self, let alone that only a few motherboards support that CPU currently.
