I just decided to upgrade my motherboard from an Asus Z87 to an Asus Z97 Deluxe, I unplugged all the component from the Z87 being really careful, but when installing everything on the new Z97 the system turns on for a second a then turns off. Check everything, to scratch the PSU I plugged to a different motherboard and it works fine. My second guess was the a defective motherboard, so I returned it got a new one, and I still have the same problem, the only component that I haven't change is the CPU. I know that the CPU is the less likely component go bad. My CPU does not have physical damage, but I want to make sure that is broken before I buy a new one. Is there anyway to make sure that the CPU is the broken component?

Thank you!

I had, on the Z87 stay on for more for 10 seconds and then turns off, but while on, the CPU error light comes on. Inspecting the Z87 board i found a bended pin, that could be the reason of the the CPU error. Somewhere, a while ago, I read that sometimes the CPU stays on sleep mode, and when trying to changed it to a different motherboard it will tell the PSU its state and to stop sending power, the only way to take the CPU off this state is to hot wired the PSU, I really don't want to this this because it can damage another components. Does anybody knows anything about this?
