Hello
When i run any cpu temp monitoring program i get 100c temp without almost any load on cpu.
but when i run Al suite 3 its show only around 40-50c . With software can i trust?

I run only 1 temp soft at time!

Solution
i'm running a 4790 on another computer with an Asus mobo - and for the longest time my temps would max at 67C - magically at the same number whether running Prime95 or other testing utility

went and downloaded RealTempGT and it showed my cpu was hitting 98-100C constantly while rendering videos. Downloaded a number of temp monitoring utilities and they all agreed with realtemp - went over to the asus motherboard forum and found there are a lot of users having issues with AI Suite 3 causing conflicts in the mobo's BIOS

i un-installed AI Suite 3 and temps came down - but after un-installing AI suite 3, asus has a "cleaner" utility to fully remove it, which i highly recommend - google for AI Suite 3 cleaner utility, download it and run...

if you've still got high temps, check your thermal paste and cooler - if your running the stock intel cooler, the push-pull pins seem to like to dis-engage and cause the cooler to loose solid contact with the cpu

and i wouldn't worry about any cpu damage from the high temps - i rendered videos for 3 months not know the ai suite's performance monitor was reporting false temps - i'm talking 3-4 hour rendering times, with the cpu at 98-99% load and temps at 98-100C - the cpu has a thermal limit that throttles the cpu at 100C, as a damage prevention measure. I was doing 5+ video files a week. After getting my temps in hand (went with a Noctua cooler) i started benchmark testing my cpu using Intel's Extreme performance utility - it lets you compare your cpu with others running the same cpu and mobo on the web - and everytime i benchmarked it after correcting temps and my scores were always within the top 5% of the scores on the web

fwiw

Solution

Seems some thing wrong with the CPU, BTW see the temp in BIOS also, if the result is same then, it is time for you to check heatsink fan seated properly and re-seat if possible

In BIOS i have same temp what was in all suite 3 , normal 40-50c

Try running Furmark CPU burner software to check if there is any problem with the CPU
after that, if possible, switch to different OS and check the CPU temperature to see if it is same

Anyways, I recommend to re-seat CPU by applying good thermal

to others running Asus AI Suite 3 - other issues i was experiencing disappeared when i un-installed it - for one, Bios kept inexplicably changing values or settings i had selected, to the point that i'd check the bios almost daily. BIOS became stable after un-installing AI Suite 3

think about the fact that ASUS actually came out with an AI Suite 3 cleaner utility that they recommend running in safe mode AFTER un-installing

just saying
