Question is in the title. Currently using the i7. I have a decent cooler and this CPU physically wont go past 4.0ghz due to being locked and my mobo doesnt have bclk. I have a friend who has the i5 and a non overclocking board and wants to pay me a little to upgrade his cpu as he will benefit from the hyperthreading.

My question is would I see much of an fps gain in games like black ops 4 and counter strike. Both games I'm playing really low settings to maximize settings.
Currently cant get any more than 150 ish on black ops and 300 on csgo.
I have a 240hz monitor btw and I can 100% feel the fps higher than 200 so don't talk about that. I just want a straight answer on what kind of fps gain can I see from 400-500mhz OC on the i5

Solution
ipc is the same for both cpu's. so the extra 400 mhz would give an fps boost. how much i don't know. will have to look up some benchmarks to see how much more but it won't be a massive amount for sure.
