Hi guys,

I need some help here.. I wanna build another computer for rendering and modeling..
Now i'm using i7 3770 but i think it's not enough for me.. My budget a lil bit tight..
Can you guys give me some advise which one is better for rendering?

Thanks guys

The 4790 is the "best" out of the 3.
The Xeon is a 4770 without an iGPU, so its very close.
FX series processors do not even compare to i7 level performance.

However, that being said, you will be severely disappointed if you change processors. the 3770 should still be very capable.

I completely agree, when you take into account the cost of a new motherboard as well as the CPU, the performance boost simply won't be there. Synthetic benchmarks will tell you that Haswell is faster than Ivy Bridge, but you won't notice this difference in your day-to-day tasks.

How much RAM does your PC have and what type is it?

my ram is 8GB now

yup its DDR3 and its 16000Mhz,, and i'm planning to make it 16 GB

I do not think the gain for you will be worth it. The 3770 is still far more than capable moving to another platform is going to be a waste of time for you, I also agree you need more ram.

Lastly the only worthwhile upgrade for you would be a 58xx series chip due to the additional cores.

yeah i would like to, but it's still to expensive 🙁

btw you are using xeon, can you tell me how is it going?

Pretty big fan of it actually,, it was cheap and hyperthreaded. I do tons of encoding.
